Re: Replacing Memory DL380 G3

Reference of WHAT? How to make a Proliant server work with non-HP memory? I'm sure you know that server is out of warranty right now.
And that "magical trick" you did was only a clear-CMOS.

Wonder how HP has no reference to this, could'nt find any articles or references in the installation guides...

Re: Replacing Memory DL380 G3

Dear Vcespon,

For your info. I've been going through hell with this server for the past 4 months with all the PSP packs HP are giving us, my DL380 G3 has been out of warranty anyway for the past year, and as we dont have an infinite IT budget in my company, I thought its best to save over $1000 with the Kingstons (certified and tested by Kingston), and use the savings in buying the new performance models of DL380 G5 servers that are being shipped to us right now :)

Kingston DIMMs I purchased passed all HP diagnostics flawlessly...

BTW. Tried to purchase spare harddisks, an extra CPU, and CD-Rom (as it sucks! in reading any copied/original CD(s)) for this G3 server and the parts required are either:

1. Too expensive
2. Out of stock
3. Not manufactured any more !

Regards !
