retrieve model name with service tag/sn

I have a serial number of a dl proliant that i cant access physically, i would like to know wich proliant generation it is (G3,G4...)
How can i do this?

It doesnt help me to find what i need, any ideas?

I have attached a basic WMI script that should return the part number, serial number, and asset tag from the BIOS. You will need to change the strComputername variable from RemoteServer to the actual server you want to pull this info from. This assumes the info in the system board/BIOS has been re-entered if the board has been replaced.

Thanks i appreciate a lot. Unfortunately, the script only returns the serial number which i already know, the asset tag and part number are left blank.

One more script to try. I ran this one against one of my local servers and my PC to verify the info. Looks good. Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.
