RJ45 adapters for the DB9 serial console on HP DL380 G6 , DL580 G7 etc.
We've recently been given a mandate to use HP systems, and have been frustrated that in 2011 they actually use a DB9 for the serial console. We have a spec for pinning adapter kits, but doing 150-200 of those would get old very, very quickly, so I'm looking for a spec on an exact off-the-shelf product that works when connected to Cisco OOB servers via standard CAT5E cable.
Many thanks to anyone who can point me at a suitable product (not a kit).

Re: RJ45 adapters for the DB9 serial console on HP DL380 G6 , DL580 G7 etc.
Suprised Cisco doesn't offer an already made RJ-45 to DCE female.
For the HP Serial Console Server I use the following to connect the RJ-45 to the DB9 on ProLiant servers
AF103A - HP RJ45-DB9 DCE Female 1pk Serial Adptr
AF110A - HP RJ45-DB9 DCE Female 8pk Serial Adptr
more info can be found here

I don't know if the HP Serial Console Server uses the same pinout as the Cisco

Re: RJ45 adapters for the DB9 serial console on HP DL380 G6 , DL580 G7 etc.
Thanks. The referenced HP item (which I'd seen before on the net) looks to be both huge and an expensive

and a cable rather than an adapter -- it would need an RJ45 barrel to attach the CAT5E crossconnect cable too. Not sure what Cisco offers. Pinouts are uncertain too -- trying to avoid having to add a null-modem style adapter just to swap DTE/DCE, and I haven't been able to figure out a DTE/DCE designation for either the HP side or the Cisco port. Sun gear has an RJ45 and straight CAT5E cables work out of the box.
The HP serial interfaces also seem to have a speed or flow control problem -- I can't cut/paste or even type fast when working with the ORCA or RBSU CLI's, or many characters will be dropped.
These systems are 2000 miles away so my ability to experiment with them is limited.
