SAS Predictive Failure
Hello everyone
I have a Proliant GEN 10 server, which presented the following predictive failure in SAS box 3 bay 4. This failure has occurred twice in less than a year but in a different bay.
The solution to be implemented is to replace the SAS, according to the different sources consulted, however, I would like to know if the warning could be due to a lack of firmware update for the SMART Array or something similar that could lead to a false alarm or warning.

Re: SAS Predictive Failure
Hi,
Now that depends on the Array Controller and drive firmwares. Refer to this guide on page# 117 & 118
Here is an example Firmware Package. Refer to Revision History and check if the errors you see are listed as fixed.
Likewise search for the smart array model that your server has and also check the drive model, some times even the drive backplane also has a firmware.
Thank You!

We're waiting for a new HD firmware as the issue, after upgrading both Smart array and HD, is still present...
Be aware also of the error 1716 in your screenshot, we have three server in this "wrong condition" ...
