SBP2 port errors drop offs

Hi, on an HP ML 330 G3, running Windows SBS 2003, SP 1, have been trying to implement an external hard drive backup. Currently using a PCI Firewire card. During NT backup overnight, the external hard drive drops off - giving an SBP2 Port error, and of course backup fails. Have tried different drives - no difference, have updated all the available updates from HP and MS. I've seen some other postings about SBP2 port errors and there hasn't appeared a clear resolution. If you've had success in resolving these errors to external hard drive, I would appreciate the details. Thanks in advance - Tim
