Scsi Tape drive installation problems
I have an HP DL380 running Linux ES 3.0
I have installed a dual channel ultra320 scsi card and plugged into Channel B an external HP StorageWorks DAT 72. The server see's the scsi card but does not see the tape drive. I have done lsmod and everything seems normal. When I "cat /proc/scsi/scsi" only the cdom shows up. When I "mt -f /dev/st0 status" it returns no device found. HELP.. what did I not do in my installation or better yet what more do I need to do to get the tape drive to be seen?

Re: Scsi Tape drive installation problems
Wyman:
Take a look at this PDF and walk through your install.
http://h200007.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00070850/c00070850.pdf
Check your SCSI ID
Check your Termination on the drive
Check the dip switch settings (for UNIX Installation) <----
Then check the SCSI cable is seated well and it has no bent pins.
Let me know what you find? -john
