Second CPU does not initialize

I have tried to upgrade my ProIiant 1600 and had no success. I need some good advice and would appreciate any good feedback.
Current configuration:
ProLiant 1600 with one PII / 333Mhz and 512Mb of Compaq EDO-DIMMS
Board Rev. : A Rev 3
BIOS: E34 from 04/19/2000
NOS: NT 4.0 Sp6a

Problem Nr 1:
Even though that the system initializes 512Mb of physical RAM the OS (NT4) does only "see" and use 256Mb.

Problem Nr.2:
After I installed the second CPU-daughter-board (PII/333Mhz) the system starts up and detects the second processor... BUT then after the Memory POST it only initializes the first CPU ("Processor 1 initialized at 333 Mhz with 512 Kbytes Cache")
The second CPU does not initialize the Cache ("processor 2 initialized at 333Mhz with 00 Kbytes Cache")
After that the system issues an Error: "212-Processor 2 Failed"
When installing more then 512Mb RAM, I also got this Error:
"217-WARNING: Processor 2 is incapable of caching all of the memory installed in this system, degradation may occur."

In order to test the second CPU I used ONLY the new processor as a single CPU ... and the system started just fine. I also switched both CPUs and got the same results.

I have been changing the "APIC Mode" in the advanced BIOS to "Full Table, Mapped" and tried all three settings without any success.
After the second CPU fails my OS does not start with the HAL for multiprocessors... as it only recognizes Processor 1.
Errors from the HAL:
MP_PTR invalid checksum
MPS MP structure not found
No MPS Table found

If anybody has some help to offer... PLEASE! ;)
Also, does anybody have this Dual system working with more then 512Mb of physical RAM???
