Hi
we have a problem. Our server is not covered anymore with CarePack. Now, on our Firewall Management station, one SAS Drive failed. We do not have any spare SAS Drives anymore, but we have plenty of Serial SCSI Discs of the same size here. Due to the urgency of this matter, we would like to replace the faulty one (SAS) with a Serial SCSI Drive, in order to fix the logical drive.
Anyone had this problem too ? Anyone tried this ? Issues on it ?
Any help or information will help a lot.
Thanks in advance
Janos Kreis

SolutionMaybe i am too stupid or went to bed too late yesterday.
As far as I understand now (research in internet), SAS and serial scsi are the same. HP is labelling the hard drives sometimes with 'SAS' and sometimes with 'serial scsi'. But basically, also the 'serial scsi' labelled hard drives are 'SAS' drives. So, i will replace the drive later on and will let you know.
Consider this issue as solved by now.
