Server black screening

I had a bad CPU fan module. I have replaced this thinking it was the reason my server acts like it is booting in the OS, and then black screens. I replaced the fan module, and it is still doing the same thing. The UID light is flashing and of course it will not let me turn it off. Has anyone seen this or have any suggestions ?

Server model?
Can you boot from windows or smart start CD, without black screen?
You have any POST messages saying its fan problem?
Minimum Configuration?

Replaced the failed fan.
Still no go.
Replaced the systemboard. Worked.

The 2nd processor socket on the sysboard was faulty.

that's right sys brd should be one of suspected parts when UID light is flashing and nothing stops it

Safe mode hasn't been mentioned yet. Can you boot in to Safe Mode?

I'm wondering if it's a video card or video driver problem?
