Re: Server DL180G9 PSU Configuration
Hi!
If your HPE ProLiant DL180 Gen9 Server was factory equipped with a single HPE 900W AC 240 V DC Power Input Module (775595-B21) yet...then to deploy a Redundant Power Supply configuration...you should equip it with another HPE 900W AC 240 V DC Power Input Module (775595-B21), which acts as the second one PIM, plus the related HPE 900W RPS Power Backplane (745813-B21), to do so - hope not be wrong here - there is a specific SKU 820792-B21 which is a Kit: the HPE 900W AC 240 V Dc Redundant Power Supply Kit (820792-B21) includes yet exactly two Power Suppy Input Modules and one Backplane Kit...so, if you chose to purchase that Kit, you will probably end up, at least as I understand it, with a spare Power Input Module (the one already factory installed on your Server: the HPE 900W AC 240 V DC Power Input Module).

Re: Server DL180G9 PSU Configuration
As from the GO config the server comes with:
744689-B21 900W Hot Plug, no IPD, DLxx/DL1xx, Gen9
and from documentation i think this Power Backplane (745813-B21)
so If i add
HPE 900W AC 240VDC Power Input Module 775595-B21 do i need aditional Power back plain compatible with this module ??
HPE 900W AC 240VDC RPS Power Backplane 814835-B21
" HPE Entry-Level Power Supplies" - info text
HPE ProLiant Gen9 Essential Server Power Supplies - Redundant

NOTE: Each Redundant Power Supply Backplane can support up to two (2) power input modules. Non-redundant configurations with a single power input module installed can provide up to 900W (200 - 240VAC) and up to 550W (100 - 127VAC) of power. Redundant configurations with two power input modules installed can provide up to 800W (200 - 240VAC) and up to 550W (100 - 127VAC) of power.
NOTE: 744689-B21 will not work with 814835-B21.

Re: Server DL180G9 PSU Configuration
i think i found the info that i was looking for
NOTE: 240VDC function will not work when 775595-B21is installed in 745813-B21. Only AC input will be enable.
NOTE: Redundant AC Power Input Modules do not share power. Redundant AC Power Input Module #1 is the primary AC Power Input Module. Redundant AC Power Input Module #2 is the backup AC Power Input Module.
HPE Entry-Level Power Supplies - document.
It will be OK just to put 775595-B21 but they will act as active and passive PSUs ..

Re: Server DL180G9 PSU Configuration
Probably: at the end, two 775595-B21 (so one added to the one you already have installed) plus one 814835-B21 instead of purchasing the whole Kit 820792-B21...documentation definitely isn't clear about this combination.
