Server identification
How can you tell the year of manufacture of a server (in this case, a DL380 G3)?
Where N=number and L=letter
i.e. NNNLLLL4NL
This format doesn't seem to fall in with any configuration I'm aware of.
This is a new server, so I'm assuming the year is the 4 I've indicated, but normally you can identify the month and year.
Any ideas?

Re: Server identification
Hi Keith, you can tell when your machine was manufactured by using this site
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/WarrantySingleLookup.jsp?prodSeriesId=75358&prodTypeId=12454
it will also tell you your mahine type just from the serial number, and whether it is still in warranty
hope this helps
