Single to Dual Processor Upgrade
I have a 180MHz Pentium Pro (256K cache). When adding a second processor, is it acceptable to use a faster CPU (such as a 200MHz) as it will only be asked to run at 180MHz? (should be possible)
If it is okay to run a faster CPU at the slower speed, can you also mix Pentium Pros with different sized caches (one CPU 180MHz 256Kb and the second 200MHz 512Kb cache)? (very unlikely)
If this is not recommended, then presumeably they must be matched pairs of CPUs. Is it a requirement or merely desireable to have matching "stepping numbers"?

Re: Single to Dual Processor Upgrade
Shouldn't mix cache sizes, but speeds are usually OK - especially because the 180MHz CPU was basically a de-rated 200 PPro (wasn't quite good enough for 200MHz).
