Slow Parallel Port Printing

Just installed new ML370 with SCO Openserver 5.06. Printer on parallel port has very slow output, prints one word at a time and one line takes 1-2 minutes. Did run the BIOS diagnostic program port showed no errors and the test print worked good so it is happening only in SCO. Have tried different printers and tried various printer model setups. This server replaced a generic computer running 5.05 with same setup and no problems. Does anyone know compatibility issue with SCO Openserver 5.06 drivers and Compaq parallel ports?

Re: Slow Parallel Port Printing

Verify that the LPT port setting in the OS match the setting in the system BIOS. The Compaq parallel port is using IRQ 7, hex address 3BC. The default LPT port in the SCO OS is IRQ 7, hex address 378. Change the BIOS configuration to match the settings that are being used in the OS.
