smart array controller 5300

smart array controller 5300

The 5300 smart array controller is a 66mhz card but on the ML570 due to the pin configuration on the card it only fits in the 33mhz slots. The spare on the card is 171383-001 which appears to correct for this model server. What am I missing here?

Slots 4 and 5 in the ML570 are 64bits/66mhz slots .....

I have to think there is an alignment problem (or something like that) as the 32 and 64 bit slots are physically compatible... Check the card and slot carefully.

As I read it from the question, there are 2 physically different 5300's!
One with a long PCI connector and one whit a short connector.....
