Smart Array E200i Battery Problem

I Have a Proliant ML350 G5 with a smart array E200i smart array controller in a embedded slot.

Checking the ACU, the controller displays the following error:

"The current array controller has one or more array accelerator batteries that are failed. See the More Information page for details.
Array accelerator operations such as Expansion, Extension and Migration are temporarily suspended until the batteries are replaced. Please consult the user guide to identify and replace the failed batteries."

I already update the firmware of the controller but the problem persists.

The question is: which component i need to purchase to solve the problem?

The 128MB BATTERY BACKED CACHE (351580-B21)
or
The 3.6 V battery pack assembly (307132-001)?

Someone could help me?

Re: Smart Array E200i Battery Problem

Hi Douglas,

It sounds like the problem is with the battery itself and not the cache card.

I recommend buying only the battery pack (307132-001).

However, if you buy the cache (351580-B21) it will also come with a battery included.

good luck, if you appreciate the answers we appreciate the points!

Re: Smart Array E200i Battery Problem

Hello,
we had similar problem with older smartarray 6i and it was not enough to replace battery, at the end we had to replace whole cache with battery... just FYI...
