Smart Array P400, no Expand options

One or our sites has a RAID 5 SAS array consisting of 6 146GB drives. They've added 2 more 146GB drives to use to expand the single logical drive in his array. The only action the ACU is making available for the array is to add the 2 drives as spares. There's no other way to include the drives in the array, and no option to expand either the array or the logical drive. This is a Windows 2003 SP2 box (ProLiant DL385 G2). Why would it not make expansion an available action?

update: I'm looking into the possiblity that this box doesn't have the BBWC upgrade, which would explain things
