but how come when I use ACU there isnt any command for such? DO i need BBWRBC?

Are you doing it online (from windows) using ACU?

If YES, the BBWC must be installed for online RAID migration : part number - 383280-B21.

This enables the RAID migration option in ACU.

I'm using smart start CD... do i have to separate the Array first before expanding? I thought I can just click it there to use new drives to expand array.

yes you need BBWC kit or BBWC upgrade

it is an "urban legend" that using SmartStart CD the option will work I've tested it and you did it and there is no option you need BBWC to do that no matter offline or online
