Smart Array P440ar on dl380 g9 issue
Dear community,
Today we are faced with a problem with HDD on 380 g9
The server has a 2 RAID
1) RAID 1 ( bay 1 and bay 2)
2) RAID 5 (bay 3,4,5,6,7 and 8 as Spare)
Now looks like HDD in bay 5 have an issue and the spare drive became a member of RAID 5
In HPE Smart Storage Administrator have 2 errors:
274 0 GB SAS HDD at Port 2I : Box 3 : Bay 5 is bad or missing. To correct this problem, check the data and power connections to the physical drive. For more information, generate a diagnostics report.
298 Array B with Spare - 1 Logical Drive(s) contains a failed physical drive. To correct this problem, check the data and power connections to the physical drives or replace the failed drive. For more information, generate a diagnostics report.
When HDD was removed - in Storage Administrator - nothing changed but in Event VIewer have a record about it
A SAS physical drive located in bay 5 was removed. The drive can be found in box 3 which is attached to port 2I of array controller P440ar [Embedded].
When HDD was inserted in Storage Administrator - nothing changed again but in Event VIewer have a record about it
Physically HDD looks like normal working, led is normally blinked as other HDD in RAID
We tried to reboot the server also, nothing changed
Here is ADUreport
Could you please understand how it may fix?
Thank you!

Re: Smart Array P440ar on dl380 g9 issue
Hi,
P440ar FW is 5.04
ADU version is 2.40
If its feasible, please update both of the softwares and then run the report.

Re: Smart Array P440ar on dl380 g9 issue
Thank you for the links!
After installation and rebooting server, P440ar FW was updated from 5.04 to 7.0
But ADU Version is still 2.40.13.0 as in the previous report (but after completing installation cp044526 setup window displayed SW version 4.21.7.0 with successful status)
In HPE Smart Storage Administrator still have 2 errors
You can find the new ADU report here

Re: Smart Array P440ar on dl380 g9 issue
Hi,
As per the ADU report, the hard drive on slot 2I:3:5(bay 5) is failed and the spare drive is a member of RAID 5.Logical drive status is OK now
And you need to replace the hard drive on slot 2I:3:5 (bay 5) which is failed now.
