Hello friends!!
First...sorry for my English
I hope you can help me…
I have a HP Proliant DL380 gen7 server, lately I'm having a lot of problems with my P410i array controller... sometimes it doesn't detect the disks, other times it doesn't start the controller with an error “Slot 0 drive Array – A controller failure event occurred prior to the power-up. Previous lock up code = 0x13”
Other times it tells me that there are no drivers installed...
Once I managed to boot correctly and enter Windows server, I updated the controller firmware, restarted the system and everything seemed to be correct, but NO... after a few days the error came back.
I installed a 2018 spp... the same, everything seemed to be correct and sometimes when I'm in Windows, it freezes and I have to restart the server with the power button, since Windows doesn't do anything.
I've been looking into scrapping the P410i and buying a controller, if that doesn't fix the problem, specifically this one:
HPE Kit smart Array P410/512MB FBWC 2 ports int PCIe X8 SAS controller board (578230-B21)...battery included.
My question is this:
Is it compatible with my DL380 gen7?
Is this the solution to my problem?

SolutionDear blackdarko
As per your given information. it seems that your P410 controller have firmware issue. Please update firmware code by SPP G7.1. and make it bootable by HPE USB Key utiltity. Also Please check HPE ProLiant DL 380 Gen7 Quick Spec for part compatibility on Page No(30 & 31).
Hope, I could provide you with clear and helpful instructions. If you have any more questions or need further assistance, don't hesitate to ask. I'm here to help!
Have a great day!
Thanks & Regards...
Rabindra

Re: smart p410i array problems
Hi Rabindra
I have downloaded and run SPP G7.1...it was working correctly for a few hours, until the system froze again, all the LEDs on the fixed disks.
I took the server out of the rack and opened it, to look for the battery...to my surprise I don't see it anywhere, I put the server back in the rack, started the system and ran the HP Array Configuration Utility application...and I noticed that the cache option was enabled...I disabled it, restarted the system and now it seems to be working correctly. I don't know if it has anything to do with the issue.
I have the raid set up as follows:
Raid 0 6 disk drives for data
Raid 1 2 operating system drives
I bought the server second hand years ago...could it be that they cancelled the array battery, or since it is the p410i, integrated, it doesn't have a battery?
Anyway, thank you very much for your help Rabindra.
I will keep you informed if everything goes well...
