SmartArray 5i controller reporting temperature issues

For the past several months, I've been seeing the following two log entries (within 1 second of each other) in the logs of a DL560G1 with a SmartArray5i controller:

cmaeventd[11353]: Sensor 0 of storage device on Port 0 of Embedded Array Controller, is reporting the internal temperature is nearing the preset limit.

cmaeventd[11353]: Sensor 0 of storage device on Port 0 of Embedded Array Controller, is now reporting temperature OK.

In hpasmcli, none of the temperature sensors report an issue, and we're not logging any read/write errors on the attached disks. The firmware on the controller is 2.66.

How do I find out what the preset limit is? Is this a bug in the firmware, or do I have a real issue that's manifesting as apparently false temperature warnings?

Re: SmartArray 5i controller reporting temperature issues

Hi,

actually the firmware is important, but drivers look to be more important :)

Check:

and the advisory :

You can still update the System ROM, 5i Fw and Proliant support pack(contains the notification driver and the controller driver, if you need links, will post you).
