smartstart boot error ProLiant DL 380 G4
recently I bought an ProLiant DL 380 G4 via ebay. I have problems installing a OS. The bootsequence of the smartstart cd ends up with the following error: err, eth0: timed out
see the attachment
iLo is deactivated, I reset the memory and deleted all partitions and array configurations.
migth possible that the NIC is defect? or is there any other explantion for this behavior?
thanks, elias

Re: smartstart boot error ProLiant DL 380 G4
you must check by the another cd for example boot with management cd if boot and not error you must change the cd smart start and download in site hp.
if not boot another cd you musy change cdrom or dvdrom.
good time.

Re: smartstart boot error ProLiant DL 380 G4
try with a diff media, try version 8.50

extra recomendation: boot from USB or burn image at 4x max.
clearing NVRAM will be nice too

Re: smartstart boot error ProLiant DL 380 G4
The NIC IS connected, but gets no IP-address from DHCP.
So it assigns itself an address using APIPA.
Subsequent network activity will fail because there will be no other devices in this subnet.
You may try installation without network connected.
