SMH, Insight Manager and IIS
In a lab environment I installed SMH and Insight Mamager on two different Windows Server 2003 servers for testing purposes.
I noticed that in both cases the web pages (:2381 and 50000) were imediately available for local users.
However, to allow users access such pages from browsers installd on different clients I had to configure IIS on both servers.
Is it correct?
How can I protect, in a production environment, web pages from unauthorized sccess?
Should I just make confidence on user authentication?
Regards
Mario

Re: SMH, Insight Manager and IIS
Hi Mario,
there is no need to install IIS to open SMH or SIM from remote client.
Simply install ProLiant support pack, configure SNMP(not needed for you test purposes) and from a remote computer enter:
httpS:\\:2381 (HTTPS, not http).
Ensure ports 2381 and 443 are not blocked from a firewall.
In SMH under Settings - Security there are several options - most users preffer certificates, further there is SSL encryption.
