Re: snmpwalk - reboot

First you should use SMH to check the SNMP service status and enable, if needed.

Hope this helps!

Re: snmpwalk - reboot

I checked in SMH - the only thing there concerning to SNMP is snmp traps - non of this refers to enable snmp agents.

Re: snmpwalk - reboot

If you're using the iLO for access rather than the host, the iLO doesn't have its own SNMP stack. Perhaps more importantly, SNMP is not a secure protocol and best practice is not to enable SNMP writes over the wire.

The secure way of doing this through iLO would be to use the command line through secure shell (ssh) and to issue a command such as

reset /system1

See "HP ProLiant Integrated Lights-Out 3 v 1.05 Scripting and Command Line Guide" for more info from http://www.hp.com/go/ilo --> Documentation

Re: snmpwalk - reboot

For getting anything out you need to have snmp agents running on the host. Since snmpv1/v2 are unsafe, consider to go for WBEM/WMI which is using encryption.

Hope this helps!

Re: snmpwalk - reboot

How about installing the Insight Manager Agent from Proliant support pack?

You did not tell what OS you are using.

Hope this helps!
