Solution: Slow IO performance with 642 RAID on ML350 G4 W2k3
Hello, All,
I have just discovered what appears to be a problem on G4 ML350's with the 642 controller: If the No Execute bit is enabled in the BIOS, it slows IO performance for the RAID controller into abysmal territory, reversible by simple disabling it again. There have been a few posts about people lamenting slow io with this setup about the net, so when I discovered the cause and the solution, seemed like I should post it.
