SSD lifecycle

We're replacing our RAS boxes and the coworker that handles specing and ordering servers ordered it using 200GB MLC 6G SAS SSD drives (they aren't supposed to store data there, so don't need a ton of space). Looking at the HP documentation, they say the estimated lifecycle is 7.5 months. I know about the write endurance etc but even so this seems low.

Is this accurate? If it does warn that it is approaching its write limit, is that covered under the three year warranty or are we on the hook for buying two new drives every 7-8 months? The drives would be mirrored, so would assume they'd reach their limits at the same time.

If it is a smart array controller , under Array Config utility it will report the average time left to read/write under SSD Wear Gauge
200GB MLC -A workload of 100% 4 KiB random writes (@ queue depth 16) to the device would
deliver a maximum lifetime of 1.45years, total of 1963 TBW (terabytes written)

The one I'd seen that said the estimated life was 7.5 months is this one

Still unclear on warranty. If the drive reaches it's write max, is that covered under the three year warranty or do we then need to purchase new drives?

He spec'd it with a P420i No Memory Smart Array controller. The server itself is a DL380p G8.

Drives that have reached the maximum limit will not be replaced under warranty, if the drive is consumed you have to purchase a new one, three year warranty covers a failed SSD but not where the drive has been consumed
