StorageWorks 4100
Can anyone help with this?
We have a Compaq ML570 fitted with two 64Bit PCI Fibre channel cards,
connected to two separate 7 Port Fibre Hubs to a single Compaq RA4100
storage box with a redundant controller (i.e.. there is a complete redundant
path to the disks).
After purchasing the kit(!) - I have discovered that although I can slice
the disks and bring them online, whenever the box is rebooted the drives
disappear (UnixWare is on a seperate internal controller and mirror set).
The problem appears to be the order the controllers reply when booting. If
the backup replies first no disks are reported when checking the validity of
the sdi table.
The solution I have been given is too unplug the redundant controller (yes,
this works, but not very 24x7!!!).
Has anyone seen this? - Is there another way?
(I don't want to send all the kit back!)
