Hi,
I have a StoreOnce 48TB DL380 G9 server that i want to convert to an ESXi. Im having issues accessing the 48TB storage as ESXi only can see the 2 900GB SAS disks in the embedded comtroller.
The other drivers are on a HP Storage array controller p1224, i cant see this controller via HSSA only the onboard P410i controller that has the 2 900GB SAS drives.
How do i access the p1224 controller to configure the disks?

Re: StoreOnce 5100 DL380 G9 - Raid controller
Hi,
Have you tried SSACLI?

Thank You!

Re: StoreOnce 5100 DL380 G9 - Raid controller
So sadly even after installing the VIB for SSACLI VMware can still only see the P440 storage controller and thus none of the 48TB disk in the front bay running on the 1224i controller.

Re: StoreOnce 5100 DL380 G9 - Raid controller
StoreOnce is an appliance built on Proliant. So the appliance properties are set at the BIOS level and these controllers are managed by the app itself. If you are planning on using it like a regular device. Use the "Service and Maintenance Guide for StoreOnce 5100" and check the section for "Steps after replacing the System Board". Clear all the said settings and give it a try.
Since this is the first time a customer is trying to convert this appliance into a regular server. We do not have any pre-designed steps for it.
Give this a try and let us know...
Thanks...

SolutionI think i can conclude it is not possible to use a DL380 G9 StoreOnce 5100 as a ESXi server utilizing the 48TB of disk capacity it has as multible datastores. Although it is no problem installing the ESXi on either a USB drive in an internal slot or using the 2 SAS drives connected to the onboard controller it is impossible to get the controller for the front bay into ESXi.
Thx for all your help.
