Stripe Size in a Raid.
Hello:
We have a new HP Proliant DL360 G3.
We are going to do a RAID 1 with two disks of 72GB.
I want to know what to put in the Stripe Size Box. The default option is 128Kb.
We are going to install W2K Server, and the OS "cluster size" is of 4KB. You can get this information in the document Q140365 from MS.
We remember a recomendation to use a Raid Stripe Size equal or smaller than the OS "cluster size".
What do you recomend us?
We are thinking to do 2 Logical Drives. The first with an 8KB Stripe Size, that is the smallest posible. And the second with an 128KB Stripe Size. Then, in W2K we are going to make some partitions and use a 128KB cluster size.
Or do you recomend to try to format the W2K boot partition with another "cluster size". How can you do this?
Best regards
Salvador
