I recently got a Proliant ML370 server, and the first thing i did was to run system erase from smartstart cd...
the erase utility can't finish
its stuck with:
"erasing drives on controller 1 of 1. Please wait..."
(waited over the night, 6 hours)
finally i had to shut down the server since nothing hapened and every time i start it again with the smartstartcd, it says :
"smart start has detected that compaq system erase did not finish erasing the system, press any key to continue arasing the system"
what can i do to fix this problem, i'm new to this and dont know how to install driver controllers without startsmart.
there is no f10 partition
no bios to enter.
5 scsi discs.
(i have really searched the net for info, but cant find anything that helps)
Grateful for help!

Proliant ML 370 R01
pIII 1000 mhz
512 mb RAM
Didn't have a clue about the switches,
if i only had opened the server and read the configuration label... instead of searching the net for hours... or post a thread =)
You solved my problem!!!!
Thanx for your time and a really fast reply!!!
