thermal control - software utilities
We want to know what utilities have we use to control the temperature of our HP Proliant ml570 and 340 servers (MS windows 2003 server).
We need a utilities that send alarm mails when the temperature be incorrect.
We have many problems with the data center temperature and we don`t want any server crash.

HP SIM
http://h18002.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/hpsim/index.html
"Fault management and event handling"
"Provides proactive notification of actual or impending component failure alerts. Automatic Event Handling allows users to configure policies to execute scripts, forward events, and to notify appropriate users of failures via e-mail, pager, or SMS gateway."
also take a look at this forum

there it is
but I recommend you take the time to check the temperature in your data center it's highly advisable

Re: thermal control - software utilities
To control the temperature of your datacenter, i would have a look on the HP INSIGHT POWER MANAGER, which is a Proliant Essential an integrated in HPSIM
http://h18013.www1.hp.com/products/servers/management/ipm/index.html
Whith this tool you could measure the temperatures on your servers an send an alert if there is an overheat at your data center.
