Tiering KVM's
We have three KVM's we are trying to tier.
All three KVM's are now at BIOS version 1.4
All servers have the same BIOS level.
The master KVM has two slave KVM's attached.
The slave on port 8 of the master works with no problems at all.
The slave on port 7 of the master only displays the details for the server attached to its port number one, no matter which port is slected from the KVM OSD menu.
The KVM's are in three seperate racks.
The rack with the master KVM contains;
4 DL580's and one DL360
The rack with the working slave contains;
5 DL580's and one DL360
The track with the non working slave KVM contains;
3 DL580's

Re: Tiering KVM's
About all I can think of right now is whether you actually configured both ports to be handling slaved switches... This is on page 3-9 of the User's Guide for the switchbox (Assigning Specific Device Types).

Re: Tiering KVM's
Spoke to Michael from the Compaq support desk, and the trick is to set the OSD on the slave KVM (hit print screen twice to get to the 2nd OSD) to make sure that it displays in order of port, not in order of name. Fixed my problem, it should fix yours!
