Tools for Diagnosing Memory Errors?
Our new 8500R has had several memory parity errors since we turned it on several weeks ago, which we have been unable to isolate to a particular DIMM. I've re-seated all the DIMMs several times, but still these errors occur on an intermittent basis.
Are there any software tools provided by Compaq for diagnosing such failures? (My hardware support team doesn't know of any and I haven't found any reference to any on the web site). What is the best procedure to follow in diagnosing these memory errors?
Thanks - Dave

Re: Tools for Diagnosing Memory Errors?
That would be the Compaq Hardware Diagnostics, which is located in the System Configuration Utility on the server.

Re: Tools for Diagnosing Memory Errors?
We have a few of the 8500s, and we also get memory parity errors on a couple of them, causing BSODs.
We have run the memory diagnostic and they have found nothing. We have replaced just about everything physical in the server, and rebuild the SO for what is is worth.
We are starting to believe this it is a problem in the firmware or micro code or perhaps something more serious.
We are getting pretty worried about these problems because they are affecting our business quite seriously.
I wonder has compaq had much of this kind of thing reported by their customers ?
