Unable to initialize ASPI MANAGER
I have Compaq PL8000 Windows NT 4.0 SP6 and install Adaptec 29160 attached 3 tape drives
1.Tape DLT 35/70 ID6(Int. Tape0)
2. DAT 20/40 ID 8 (Ext. Tape1)
3. DAT 20/40 ID 9(Ext. Tape2)
I can NTBACKUP all tape drives completed but Brarchive can initialize tape and save tape.hdr0 but can't backup archive transaction(problem only 2 DAT Drives but DLT Backup completed) occured error massage
BR278E Command output of 'dd bs=32k conv=sync
if=D:\oracle\TH3\saparch\TH31_7897 of=/dev/nmt1':
dd: unable to initialize ASPI manager
dd: using NT tape support
dd: The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.
dd: write error: The request could not be performed because of an I/O
device error.
I was to try upgrade ASPI32 but I get same the error massage.
SAP recommend to contact that hardware vendor when I contacted Adaptec he said "You need to contact that software vendor because NT backup completed " and when contacted COMPAQ he said "not support third party "
Please suggest me
Regards.
Santi.
Note.
DLT 35/70(tape0) backup complete but Dat 20/40(tape1,2) occured error massage.

Re: Unable to initialize ASPI MANAGER
Hi
You should be SCSI Card
1. 64-bit/66-MHz Dual Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter 129803-B21
or
2. 64-bit/66-MHz Single Channel Wide Ultra3 SCSI Adapter 154457-B21
Thanks.
