Underclocking?
I am looking at doing some Performance comparisons , but am limited to the hardware I have already.
Also is it possible to vary the amount of Cache available?
Thanks

Re: Underclocking?
try to find CPU specified utilities, I think there are some for AMD, should be for Intel as well, but they are not provided by HP.

Re: Underclocking?
if you have proliant server, you oculd use this :
With the HP Proliant G5 -G7 servers (e.g. DL380, ML370, etc.), it is possible to disable half of the cores available to the server.
This is a BIOS switch labeled "Processor Core Disable" with options "All Processors Enabled" and "Disable One-Half of cores per Physical Processor."
Of course you will be able to disable/enable HT,
and of course you could use Intel├В┬о Turbo Boost Technology, it will disable cores, but the frequensy will be increased.

Re: Underclocking?
Haven't used it. On the DL385s there's a power regulator setting in the Bios (RBSU) that allows you to lock the processors at low speed as well.
