Unexpected Shutdowns
We have a DL-380 server that formerly ran NT 4.0 without issue for 6 months. We upgraded the box to Windows 2000 (clean install, upgraded the bios, etc.). Ever since then the machine will shutdown at random times. The event log only notes an enexpected shutdown. We are assuming that it is a software issue as the box was fine under NT 4.0.

Re: Unexpected Shutdowns
The only advice that I can give at this point is to be sure that you have the latest service pack for Windows 2000 and follow up with the latest support pack for Windows 2000 from Compaq which can be downloaded from our web site.

Re: Unexpected Shutdowns
I have the same problem with a dozen AP550's too. The best we have been able to guess or narrow down to is Power Management conflict between bios and sw or a video driver issue (power saving in screen saver) with certain video card models.
