Uniqly identify the SAN luns in Windows server 2008
I have a HP Proliant DL385 G5 running Windows 2008 Server R2.
I have presented the FC SAN luns from two HP EVA storage arrays. I was using (bus/target/lun) details available in disk drive properties in windows to uniqly identify the luns.
I have obserevd bus/target/lun id's are unique for luns from the same storage array. But i have read the trio (bus/target/lun) will be duplicate for the luns from other EVA storage.
ie: two luns from differnt storage arrays can have the same (bus/target/lun) in windows
Is the trio(bus/target/lun) reliable to uniqly identify the FC SAN luns from different storage arrays in windows?
