update for bios support gtx video card HP ML110 GEN9

I find it simply absurd to be required to use certified video cards with absurd prices and with performance much lower than a gtx 1050 ti for half the price. there should be some way to remove this lock.

Re: update for bios support gtx video card HP ML110 GEN9

Hello!

Currently this server model supports only nVidia cards listed in the technical specification page 26 https://h20195.www2.hpe.com/v2/GetPDF.aspx/c04545445.pdf

If some other card support will be added, it will be mentioned in the updated scpecification document.

We don't provide any procedures which is not supported by default.

Thank you!

Re: update for bios support gtx video card HP ML110 GEN9

The reason Graphics adapters (be it Video cards or Graphics Accelerators) ar Certified is to certify that they have been tested and are supported on the respective server. It also means that there will be Drivers (whereever required) that will be out an available to use along with the respective supported OS.

Not sure if there is lock as such. If the graphics card meets the standard PCI standards/specifications and the server has a slot that is required by that card (also consider the additional power that it may need), it may work. Just that there would be no support for it. In short, it would not be known how/if the card would function when it is not certified. Which is why it is recommended to go for supported adapters.
