Upgrade of Proliant DL380 Gen8 Servers

Hi Experts,

I have Two Questions

Question 01 :

I wanted to update Drivers and Firmware for HP DL380 Gen8 server so i just google and find out that the easiest way to is download the Service Pack for ProLiant (SPP) therefore i download SSP GEN10 so can i use this to update Drivers and Firmware of my Gen8 Servers.

Question 02 :

I downloaded Firmware for Power and ILo from HP (https://support.hpe.com/connect/s/product?cc=us&kmpmoid=5194969&tab=driversAndSoftware&lang=en#t=DriversandSoftware&sort=relevancy&layout=table&numberOfResults=25&f:@kmswsoftwaretypekey=[swt8000029]) link but when i try to run it from my operating system it gives me an error

So I just try to update from the iLO page it displays a different error.

Well, this SPP is for Gen10, not for Gen8.

For Gen8 go to

https://spp.hpe.com/custom

and select SPP Gen8.1

Second:

WHat file did you use?

The *.bin file or *.exe?

You need to extract the *.bin from the *.exe first.

Please follow the below instructions:

To update the iLO:

• Please extract the contents of .exe file
• iLO -> Administration -> Firmware -> Please browse the file .bin file

iLO version is updated but I am unable to update Power Management Drivers and Facing below issue.

Trying to download SPP 8.1 but it ask for HP Support as i do not have.

Please do download the individual firmware/driver links from the below link. Please do select the OS version and download accordingly.

SPP download will require an active contract and you need to link your account for SPP download.
