upgrading a RAID 5 array in a ML350 G3 server

My current configuration is 6 disks of 36GB each with a logical drive of 169.6GB filling all available space. To upgrade the array I purchased 3 disks of 300GB and replaced 3 of the 36GB with them, online, one at a time.

My question is: how can I remove the remaining 3 disks of 36GB, and expand the logical drive to all 600GB?

Re: upgrading a RAID 5 array in a ML350 G3 server

You have two possibilities: either you pull out the old HDDs and pull in the new HDDs one by one (you take one out, put a new HDD in and wait the rebuild to end), or just take out all old 36gb HDDs, pull all new 300 GB hdds and create a completely new array using orca or smart start cd.
In the first case, after the rebuild of all HDDs is ready, go to te Array Configuration Utility and assign the unused free space to the array

Kind regards,
