Upgrading Smart Array P222 with SSDs: Failure Reason: "Hot Plug Drive Type Mix"
ProLiant DL320e Gen8 with Smart Array P222. It currently has 4x 1TB 7200 RPM SATA HDDs in a RAID 10 configuration. We are trying to upgrade these to 4x 1TB SSDs. When swapping the first one, the system fails the drive ( ADUReport says "The physical drive has failed"). The last failure reason is, "Hot Plug Drive Type Mix (0x25)". This seems to imply that mixing the SSD with the other HDDs is not supported, which seems a bit weird to me, as I am under the impression these should be compatible. However, I can't seem to find any documention on this error code. Is that truly the issue and I really need to do something drastic like rebuild the whole server, or am I missing something?
Here is a snippet from the ADUReport.

Re: Upgrading Smart Array P222 with SSDs: Failure Reason: "Hot Plug Drive Type Mix"
The controller supports SAS, SATA, and SSD, but you cannot mix them in the same physical array. I don't think any array controller supports that

Re: Upgrading Smart Array P222 with SSDs: Failure Reason: "Hot Plug Drive Type Mix"
I just did this on another serevr with a LSI/3ware controller. Is it the "hot plug" part that isn't compatible, and I just need to reboot it? or is it that it doesn't support mixed types at all?
