Re: URGING: All disks unaccessible (6 solid amber lights)

When updating the firmware, I received a message saying the HDD firmware should be updated as well, but how can I do this when the box won't detect any disk I put in?

Any ideas?

thanks in advance

RaMpaNTe, I tried every disk by itself in the bay 0 and none of them gets detected... I doubt they are all corrupted. Must be the controller or backplane then... either way, I guess it's safe to assume that I have a hardware issue..

Re: URGING: All disks unaccessible (6 solid amber lights)

Hi, I would go for the backplane, since having two controllers you have the chance determine whether a controller is failed or the backplane.

So if your tried all disks in bay 0 with the 5i controller try doing the same but this time using the PCI controller, if no drives are detected then is for sure the backplane needs replacement.

SCSI Backplane Part number is 289552-001
It has a listed price of US$ 432 but you'll get a US$

I would also recomend a SCSI cable kit (just in case) 289567-001

Thanks!
You heve a question... I have an aswer!!!
