use virtualization max performance and disable sub-numa clustering

My server workload is for virtualization so I want change profile to virtualization maximum performance but with enable it some items in power and performance options such as Sub-Numa Clustering change Enable - SNC2 on top of that other options will changes in power and performance option menu. Now I just want to change profile with max virtualization performance . Do you suggest change workload to virtualization max performance and then change to custom and disable sub-numa clustering iterm ?

Re: use virtualization max performance and disable sub-numa clustering

Hi @Jamala

You can disable sub-numa clustering once you change it to custom. You can also modify the other options in Power and Performance.

I assume there is no need to change the workload to virtualization maximum performance and then change to custom. Then, disabling sub-numa clustering

Re: use virtualization max performance and disable sub-numa clustering

@Mamatha_J, and @Greeshma21,

Thanks. But my server generation is G11 and on this generation when I change profile to virtualization maximum performance it also enable sub-numa clustering and cannot change it so just need to change profile to custom for disable sub-numa clustering . As I want to just diable sub-numa want to now is that enough to just disable Sub-numa clustering item or have to change othere items ? Does exist any dependency between items or not ?

Re: use virtualization max performance and disable sub-numa clustering

Hi @Jamala

You can change the profile to custom to disable sub-numa clustering. There is a dependency only for enabling that; Sub-NUMA clustering can only be enabled if the XPT Prefetcher is also enabled.

For more information, please refer to this document.
https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=a00112581en_usen_us&page=GUID-0200DE9A-AFCF-4CF0-919D-713E2A8B915A.html&docLocale=en_US

I assume that when sub-numa clustering is disabled, there would be no impact on the other options.
The effect of disabling sub-numa cluring varies based on the specific system and workload.
