Using StoreEasy board in DL380 Gen8 - How to change name?
OK, I admit this is an unusual problem....
I have a mainboard that was used in a StoreEasy 1840 and now I want to use the board in a DL380p Gen8 server. Everything works fine except that the board is named "StoreEasy1840" and I want to change that to "DL380p Gen8"
I know there is a procedure to rename a new board from DL380 to StoreEasy but I want to do the opposite.
How can I change the board ID back to DL380p??

@Suman_1978
This is the opposite of what I want to do. I want to rename a board from a StoreEasy back to DL380. BTW that post was started by me....

Betreff: Query: Using StoreEasy board in DL380 Gen8 - How to change name?
As far as I know, the System Modell Name for StoreOnce is fixed in the BIOS, and not possible to Edit.
I reuse a StoreOnce as Server and even if I Edit the Part Number and Serial in the BIOS it is always named as StoreOnce.
I assume this is the same for StoreEasy.

I think it is possible to change the system id. When you get a replacement board for a StoreEasy 1840 from HP, they will send you a DL380p Gen8 board. In the StoreEasy software is a tool to rename the board.
But as far as I know this only works in one direction and you can not choose another name. But it tells me that renaming is possible and it's only a question of having the correct tool or procedure.
Maybe I have to analyze that tool-script to see how they do it and then put another name into it....

Re: Betreff: Query: Using StoreEasy board in DL380 Gen8 - How to change name?
Do you think changing the properties of the internal SATA controller will change the board ID??
Dear friends
Before you post an answer, please read the question completely and if you don't know the solution then just write nothing.
Ok I will explain my problem again:
- I have a board from a StoreEasy
- It works and it identifies itself as "StoreEasy" at startup
- I want to use this board in a DL380 Gen8 server
- This works too but it looks stoopid when a DL380 tells you it's a "StoreEasy" at startup
- There are procedures to rename a board from DL380 to StoreEasy BUT I NEED THE OPPOSITE!
