VMware on DL585 G2
I purchased a DL585 G2 for our new VMware server, but when I run SmartStart 7.60, there isn't an option for vmware install. Can anyone help me out with this?

Re: VMware on DL585 G2
Hello,
VMware Server or VMware ESX? If you want to run VMware Server, you need an OS installed on the server, for example Windows (XP, 2000, 2003) oder Linux (SUSE 10.x, SELS, RHEL, Fedora, Debian...). If yoz want to install VMware ESX, just boot of the VMware ESX CD and install it.
Regards,
Patrick

Re: VMware on DL585 G2
Thanks Patrick. I knew that I could do that, but I was just concerned that it would miss some of the HP server software.

Re: VMware on DL585 G2
Drivers are included on the ESX disk to get your installation done. You can get a health/agent package for ESX from http://www.hp.com/servers/swdrivers by selecting your version of ESX.
