Re: What does the word "ProLiant" stands for?

your guess is as good as any...

Pro -
Professional?
Problematic? (Anyone ever tried to mount a DLT in a 1600 will understand. Or done anything that required removing the 'cage' with the CPU and RAM... Still have scars... )

Liant?
Reliant?
Robin Reliant?
(Google it ;-)

The series before were namd 'SystemPro' and 'ProSignia'.
(This was way back in the late 80s, early 90s, before Compaq was merged with HP.)

It used to mean Professional Reliant. Now I am not sure. Now it mean Prone to Failure and UnReliant. Firmware is my main issue. It crashes server boards.

Kind of like a Robin Reliant when you try to take a sharp turn...
