What is the ram that can be used on HP Proliant ML330 G3 server?

Hi,

I would like to upgrade my server ram to 2 GB. Currently, my server ram is 512MB. I would like to know what type of the ram that can be used on this server? Registered or normal ddr ram. CAn it be other brand? If yes, please list their reference url for me.

Thanks for reading and answering my post.

Re: What is the ram that can be used on HP Proliant ML330 G3 server?

hi,

in the quickspecs u can see the official support RAM

WorldWide QuickSpecs - hp ProLiant ML330 Generation 3
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11614_div/11614_div.HTML

Memory Type PC2100 DDR SDRAM running at 266MHz

You can use 3rd Party RAM, but u loose your support if they causes an issue.

Cheers
Michael

Hi,
Memory Standards: DIMMs must be industry-standard, ECC Registered PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMMs and support CAS Latency 2.5 (CL=2.5).Memory Installation: HP recommends that the DIMMs be installed sequentially in slots 1, 2, 3, and then 4.

Standard Memory

256 MB (expandable to 4 GB) of non interleaved PC2100 DDR SDRAM running at 266 MHz, with Advanced ECC capabilities (1 x 256 MB)

Standard Memory Plus Optional Memory

Up to 3328 MB memory is available with the optional installation of PC2100 DDR SDRAM memory kits.

Standard Memory Replaced with Optional Memory

Up to 4096 MB memory is available with the removal of the standard 256 MB of memory and the optional installation of PC2100 DDR SDRAM DIMM memory kits.

What you reply is not false, it is true, but what you did wrong was copy/paste INFORMATION for INTERNAL USE FROM AN INTERNAL HP TOOL, don't abuse of your advantages, otherwise I'll notify your manager, you know I can do it so please behave and be aware of this.

You heve a question... I have an aswer!!!
