What software to control/monitor compaq UPS R3000 XR other than compaq insight manager?
Do i have to install any drivers ?

Yes, you'll have to install the Power Management Agents, which can be found on the SmartStart Management CD (current version is 1.81) or on the following link: http://h18000.www1.hp.com/support/files/server/us/download/11102.html

Make sure to connect the serial cable from the master server to the UPS. You also have to possibility to work with UPS groups i.e. one master server and several members which are connected to the same UPS.
PS: don't forget to install the CIM32 client utility on the console, or you'll not be able to see your UPS in CIM32. Alternativley, you can manage it via the WebAgent (or CIM7).
