WHen installing 4.10, it stop when examining external network number

I'm trying to install netware 4.10 on a ML370 server. By following the SmartStart CD and NSSD instruction (it only mentioned netware 4.11, no 4.10 - so I treated it as 4.11 server installation procedures), it worked fine until finished installing the LAN drive (N100) and it started to examining external network number. Unfortunately, it kept on doing this forever. The only thing I could do was Clt-Esc to the console and down the server to stop the examining process.

I used SmartStart version 4.9 with that ML370 server.

Any clue with any body?

Thanks,

Felix Cheung

Try running the Erase Utility , re-run smartstart and use the manual installation process.

I have the exact same problem, I tried using the erase and manual installation and it still hangs trying to find the external ipx address. Could there be another/newer lan driver we need to try?

Don't know if it's a result of the driver , try using an older version of the driver .

Make sure that you select the correct frame type that you use for IPX on your LAN. If you have the right frame type it should find the network number pretty quickly.
