Win 2k Doesn't recognize 5300 controller
I am attempting to install Windows 2000 on a ProLiant ML530 server with a 5300 Array controller. I've run the Smart Start system and array configuration utility and while attempting to install Windows 2000 I get a message that indicates that the system has no hard drive. I think the issue may be with Win 2k recognizing the 5300 controller. If this is the case, how can I get around it to perform the installation?

Re: Win 2k Doesn't recognize 5300 controller
Make certain the Smart 5300 is listed as " Controller Order First " in the System Configuration Utility .

Re: Win 2k Doesn't recognize 5300 controller
When installing Windows 2000, make sure you specify "Add Additional Devices" when first installing, I believe you press F6 when prompted. Insert the Smart Array Floppy drive into the server and follow the on screen prompts. That should install the drivers for the Smart Array and allow you to see the drives.
Hope this helps.
