Window Server 2016 Installation using Bootable USB in HP DL 380 G9 with Intelligent Provisiong
We have HP DL 380 G9 series server and trying to install Server 2016 OS using bootable USB which is UEFI compatible. When we are configuring RAID & selecting OS & bootable option then it is not detecting this USB at the time of OS Provisioning as bootable and simply showing files & folders present in this USB.
But with the same USB if we select this USB as 1st Boot option in Boot Manager (F11) then it starts installing Window Server 2016 OS. Problem with this type of installation is that it will not install HP drivers for NIC and other controllers and will show as unidentified devices in 'Device Manager'.
Micsrosoft SMB option is also not working as there is some problem coming in detection of Shared folder.

Can you install through (f11), and then install the needed drives after the initial install? It's not pretty but it will get the job done.
You may also try updating Intelligent Provisioning they just released a new update this month

I had a similar issue with a ML110 Gen9 Server. Updated to the latest Intelligent Provisioning version fixed my issue. Also had to be sure to use a HPE certified SD Card.
